This just in: Sony will host a State of Play presentation on Tuesday, September 24, during which it will provide audiences with "news and updates on more than 20 upcoming PS5 and PS VR2 games from studios around the world."
Sony confirmed that the "30+ minute show" will start at 3:00 PDT / 6:00 PM EDT / 11:00 PM BST, and it will be available to watch on the official PlayStation YouTube channel and Twitch.
With the PlayStation 5 pre-orders starting this week and Sony promising to focus on its first-party offerings against earlier this year, the September State of Play will be about new and upcoming titles from the likes of Santa Monica Studio, Insomniac Games, and Sucker Punch Productions, right? Well, probably not.
Judging from the comments on social media platforms like X and pretty much the rest of the internet, no one is betting on Sony to announce anything new unless we're talking about more remasters.
Keep in mind that Sony still hasn't showcased enough PS5 Pro Enhanced titles for a respectable lineup of games for its upcoming mid-cycle console generation refresh. It will have to beef up its offerings, which might explain why we're hearing rumblings of Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone getting remastered, presumably for the PS5 Pro.
