Sony's PlayStation Plus has reached a pivotal milestone - its one-year anniversary. To celebrate this, Sony has plenty of new and exciting activities as well as giveaways and even more impressively, the advent of cloud streaming for PS5 games. This major step comes as a boon for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers and marks a commitment to the continuous enhancement of the PlayStation Plus experience, especially for the PS5, which recently set a new sales record.
Only a year since its overhaul, PlayStation Plus has witnessed significant growth, with users spending seven times more time on the revamped platform compared to its predecessor, PlayStation Now. Most notably, PS Plus Premium, the service's top tier, has garnered a larger user base than expected, which has been a pleasant surprise for the company.
Premium subscribers enjoy access to 700 games, including titles for PlayStation, PS2, and PlayStation Portable. As a part of the anniversary celebrations, PlayStation Plus Premium is soon to start testing cloud streaming for PS5 games. For now, these streamed games will only be available on PS5 consoles, but it provides users access to a whole new roster of games without the need for lengthy downloads. With the increasing number of games launching on PS5, adding cloud streaming capability for these titles is a significant value addition for the Premium subscribers.
