Given how difficult it is to get your hands on a PS5 these days, it's easy to assume that most new PS5 (and even PS4) owners aren't new to the PlayStation gaming platform. But, let's just say you are. Or, if you're not, you might have owned a PS1 or a PS2 in the past and it's your first time owning a console in a while. In both cases, you're probably not familiar with PS Plus.
For those who haven't subscribed to PlayStation Plus before, Sony has good news - you can get it for free, provided you're in the United Kingdom or New Zealand.
Sony is giving incoming PS Plus subscribers a chance to check out the Extra or Premium tiers for seven days. But, as is always the case, there's a catch.
Before you sign up for the free period, you'll have to choose if you want to subscribe to a monthly, quarterly, or annual PS Plus plan. Don't worry, as you can cancel the subscription before the end of the trial period. This way, you won't have to pay anything at all if you don't like what you get - you just have to keep an eye out for when your trial ends.
