Spiderman fans don't have a lot of fond memories from Sony's pair of The Amazing Spider-Man films from 2012 and 2014. However, those who watched the said movies can appreciate just how much the lead actors, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, brought to the table. Both actors' performances are arguably what elevated the pair of comic book projects. This probably explains why there are talks that Sony is reportedly planning on bringing Emma Stone back for a stint as Gwen Stacy.

What is interesting here is that Emma isn't going to reprise her original role as just Gwen Stacy - she'll be the one to suit up as Spider-Man this time around.

Is Spider-Gwen about to make her cinematic debut?

Sony Might Be Thinking About Bringing Emma Stone Back As Spider-gwen

As a character, Gwen is arguably as old as Spider-Man himself. She first appeared as Peter Parker's original love interest in the comics and her death at Green Goblin's hands is widely considered one of the few moments that helped shape Peter Parker's life along with Uncle Ben's death. A different version of the same event made its way to 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which recently became a talking point among fans who've seen Spider-Man: No Way Home.
