In the world of first-person shooters, there's nothing quite like a good game of Call of Duty. If we believe the rumors, fans of the series are about to get another chapter in the form of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

The sequel to Modern Warfare 2, believed to be helmed by Sledgehammer Games, appears to be the subject of a series of teasing social media posts. The most prominent hint came from Sledgehammer's new social media logo, which replaces the "E" with a red, sideways "III", seemingly hinting at Modern Warfare 3.

This follows up on previous leaks and reports suggesting that a reboot of Modern Warfare 3 is already in development. It's worth noting, however, that Activision has yet to officially confirm the official title for the 2023 release albeit we can't say the same for Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley.

Previously, it was believed that Activision Blizzard wouldn't release a new game until at least 2024 with Treyarch at the helm. But, multiple reports from over the past year suggest otherwise. Apparently, a planned premium expansion for the record-setting entry, Modern Warfare 2, has been re-packaged into a new entry, presumably to make it easier to sell for the current pricing standard of $70 as opposed to $30 or $40, which is the usual price of expansions.
