After an earlier tease, 2K Sports and WWE have finally confirmed the official details surrounding WWE 2K24, the latest installment in the popular wrestling game series.
WWE 2K24 is set to launch on March 8 across various platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. This exciting announcement from 2K promises to bring fresh features and updates to the franchise, enhancing the gaming experience for wrestling enthusiasts around the world.
The game’s cover showcases Cody Rhodes on the Standard Edition, an accolade he describes as a major milestone in his career. The Deluxe Edition features a groundbreaking dual women’s cover with WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley and former champion Bianca Belair, marking the first time two women have shared the cover of a WWE 2K game. Notably, Bianca Belair is the first woman of color to be featured on the cover, signifying a significant moment in the series’ history.
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of WrestleMania, WWE 2K24 introduces a special 40 Years of WrestleMania Edition. It displays a captivating collage of superstars, both past and present, along with the iconic WrestleMania marquee, paying homage to the event’s rich legacy.
Developed by Visual Concepts, WWE 2K24 boasts several new features and enhancements. It introduces a WrestleMania mode, allowing players to relive iconic moments from WrestleMania’s storied history. Four new match types, including Ambulance and Special Guest Referee, are added, providing varied and exciting gameplay options. The game’s roster is impressive, with over 200 WWE Superstars and Legends like Roman Reigns, Andre the Giant, Becky Lynch, Batista, Kurt Angle, Asuka, Bret Hart, Brock Lesnar, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Chyna, and others.
Another innovation in WWE 2K24 is the ability for players to move the camera during live gameplay, along with notable improvements to Ramp cameras and Dive cameras, enhancing the visual experience. Additionally, the game includes two new MyRISE experiences, offering unique and engaging storylines for players to explore.
