The Call of Duty franchise has etched its place in the hearts of many generations of gamers by several means, one of which is its map design. Now, developer Infinity Ward is backtracking on its decision to remove the reworked Shipment map from the pool of playable maps.
Infinity Ward publicized its decision on Twitter, saying that Shipment 24/7 and Tier 1 Shipment are in back the mix. This means that fans can enjoy the close-quarters combat that the reworked Shipment map provides for a bit longer. The map was added to the 24/7 playlist back on December 15, 2022, with the Season 1 Reloaded update that saw it introduced to the game. The Shipment 24/7 playlist was removed from Modern Warfare 2 on January 11, with another vintage map in Shoot House replacing it.
But the player base made its discontent with the changes known through pressure on social media, spamming every post from the developer with comments to bring back Shipment. And they got their wish as Shipment 24/7 was added back on January 20 and is currently live in the game.
