Shazam has scored a massive win against his arch-nemesis and the ruler of Kahndaq, Black Adam. The sequel to Shazam!, which came out in 2019, will be getting a theatrical run in China, something that Teth-Adam failed to do.
China recently eased its restrictions on Hollywood movies, allowing Marvel films like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to premiere in mainland theaters. Shazam! Fury of the Gods also secured a theatrical release in the massive Chinese market, increasing the likelihood that it will beat Black Adam at the global box office.
The Global Times, an English-language publication in China, revealed that the Shazam! sequel will be opening in Chinese theaters. The news outlet shared a poster for the theatrical run of Shazam! Fury of the Gods in China.
"Shazam! Fury of the Gods on Wed has been confirmed to be released in China, becoming the 3rd superhero Hollywood film to be released in the mainland in 2023 following Marvel's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," the Global Times tweeted.
