SEGA and Tencent are skipping E3 2023 as well

It's unfortunate that E3 is losing notable publishers just months before it starts. E3 has struggled to maintain relevancy in recent years and the coronavirus pandemic made a bad situation a whole lot worse.

After canceling the 2020 event, E3 held a digital-only showcase in 2021, which didn't do so well, before skipping last year. This year was supposed to be a big deal for E3 as this is the first E3 with in-person audiences since 2019.

It certainly doesn't help that Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest has pretty much supplanted E3. Ironically, Geoff Keighley "created" the event to fill in the void left by the cancelation of E3 2020. Now, Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest is one of the most highly anticipated showcases every year, alongside The Game Awards, and others.

Konami

, Electronic Arts, Square Enix, Activision Blizzard, and

Take-Two Interactive

are some of the big names left that

haven't

dropped out of E3 2023, yet.

There's genuine concern among credible sources that E3 2023 could get canceled in light of the recent developments.
