Sea of Thieves, the renowned open-world pirate adventure game by Rare, is charting a course for PlayStation 5, with its voyage set to begin on April 30. The game’s launch on PS5 not only introduces it to a new audience but also signifies the first instance of a Rare game appearing on a PlayStation platform.
This marks a significant expansion for the game, which has enjoyed widespread acclaim and a strong player base since its initial release for Xbox One and PC via Microsoft Store in March 2018, later extending to Steam in June 2020 and Xbox Series on November 10, 2020.
The transition of Sea of Thieves to PS5 is part of Microsoft’s strategy to bring four of its previously Xbox exclusive titles to other platforms, including the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation.
