It's hard to imagine Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson not as a movie star. He's been a Hollywood fixture for two decades now. However, in the early 2000s, this wasn't the case.

Sure, The Rock was still in entertainment - he was the self-dubbed "Most Electrifying Man in Sports History", after all. The only difference was that he was busy getting tangled up with other wrestlers in the WWE as one of the sport's biggest draws.

Johnson's time in Hollywood didn't start until he landed his first film role as Mathayus of Akkad, who is also known as The Scorpion King, in 2001's The Mummy Returns. He would later reprise his role in 2002's The Scorpion King. The rest, as they say, is history. Since then, The Rock has starred in at least one film every year.

Having said that, it appears that a reboot of The Rock's breakout film is in the works and he's set to produce it.

When is The Scorpion King's reboot release date?
