The highly-anticipated Daredevil: Born Again series may be seeing the return of familiar faces – alongside the obvious, we mean. In a recent report, rumors began to circulate that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson will reprise their roles as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson in the upcoming show.

After the Netflix Marvel series ended, fans have unanimously encouraged Disney to bring back not just the show, but the entire cast. Although Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk/Kingpin) have both reappeared in the MCU, such as the recent Disney+ series Echo, the other cast members have not. Yet. There may be hope looming on the horizon.

The rumor comes from The InSneider. As production gears up to resume, journalist Jeff Sneider shared on Twitter the rumor that Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson would be returning for Daredevil: Born Again.

Though not officially confirmed by Marvel or Disney at the time of writing, their potential return signals promising developments for the show, aiming to recapture the success of Netflix’s original Daredevil series. This development closely follows the confirmation that the Netflix shows have officially become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) canon on Disney+’s MCU timeline.

Daredevil: Born Again is slated to comprise 18 episodes with a targeted release around 2025. In October 2023, reports surfaced indicating that Daredevil: Born Again was undergoing a “significant creative reboot” following the production hiatus prompted by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes over fair pay and AI infringement issues.

Prior to the show’s announcement, Kingpin was featured in the Disney+ Hawkeye series, while Matt Murdock briefly appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Additionally, Charlie Cox guest-starred in two episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, showcasing a lighter side of the hero.

The Daredevil: Born Again writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, along with the series’ directors, were discreetly replaced, while some completed scenes and episodes would be retained with additional serialized elements introduced. Marvel Studios CEO and chief creative officer Kevin Feige was not happy with the direction and execution the produced episodes were going, prompting the overhaul.

As production gears up to resume, journalist Jeff Sneider shared on Twitter the rumor that Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page and Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson would be returning for Daredevil: Born Again.

Karen and Foggy played pivotal roles across the three seasons of Daredevil, contributing significantly to Matt Murdock’s growth as both a lawyer and a vigilante. Foggy’s initial reluctance to support Matt spurred the titular hero to find alternative ways to serve justice, beyond relying solely on physical violence.

Deborah Ann Woll‘s Karen Page, on the other hand, introduced nuanced perspectives to Matt’s vigilante actions, challenging his approaches. Her defense of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher in Daredevil season 2 prompted Matt to confront moral complexities and question the lengths he would be willing to go with battling criminals.

This exploration of moral ambiguity brought Matt closer to the antiheroic path familiar to fans of Daredevil’s Marvel Comics history, where he isn’t quite the goody two shoes as many other capes – and becomes more real as a result.

Foggy and Karen were essential in Matt's journey as Daredevil. The two provided a support system as friends and partners at the Nelson and Murdock Law Office. Fans have been clamoring for their return.

With the recent appearances of both Matt and Fisk on the Echo series, it is virtually confirmed Daredevil: Born Again will be going back to the New York setting. Given the importance of Karen and Foggy in the original Netflix series and the fervent calls for their return, fans are hopeful that Marvel will soon confirm the casting of Woll and Henson and seamlessly integrate their characters into Born Again, ensuring a meaningful continuation of their story arcs.
