Roblox is finally coming to PlayStation. While the game has been out on the Xbox One and PC for several years, it hasn't gotten a PlayStation release until now.

Roblox was released on Windows PC in 2006 and has been on the Xbox One since 2015. The game platform and creator is also on iOS since 2012 and launched on Android in 2014. However, the PlayStation port of Roblox is taking a very long time to materialize due to Sony's concern about the game's popularity with children.

Historically, because of the large number of children that play on the PlayStation, we have been very careful with regards to opening them up to anything that could potentially exploit them," Sony's Jim Ryan said in 2022.

"Over the last couple of years, however, we have reviewed those policies and relaxed a little on this," he continued. "We have been conservative for too long, and now we are currently engaging with people at Roblox. We hope that the situation will change."

Well, things have finally changed as the Roblox Corporation announced that the game is finally coming to PlayStation during the recently concluded Roblox Developer Conference (RDC). The annual event was held last September 8-9 at the Fort Mason Center for Arts and Culture in San Francisco. Sony's pivot may have been due to Roblox adding gaming categories for players 17 and up alleviating the console-maker's concerns.
