Resident Evil Village might be headed to Game Pass soon

Speaking of, we wouldn't be surprised if Capcom did the same thing with Resident Evil Village as it did with 2017's Resident Evil 7, releasing more story content a year after the game first hit store shelves. The first of the post-launch DLCs for Resident Evil 7 put players in control of the long-time series protagonist, Chris Redfield, while the other explores the game's story following the campaign's conclusion.

We already learned from bonus content for Resident Evil Village that Capcom initially planned to bring Ada Wong into the game, so the post-launch DLC could certainly revisit that idea albeit expand on it a bit more. On the other hand, Capcom could go with a larger expansion that picks up after the events of Resident Evil Village and sees Chris visit BSAA's European headquarters after discovering that the organization had sent organic bioweapons disguised as BSAA soldiers to the remote eastern European village that served as the game's setting.

Either way, 2022 is going to be a big year for Resident Evil fans. Earlier this year, Netflix finally gave its live-action adaptation starring Lance Reddick a release date. Meanwhile, Capcom is working on a current-gen remaster for Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3, with rumors suggesting that this will all lead up to an official reveal for the Resident Evil 4 Remake.
