Why that Red Dead Redemption Remaster leak might be fake

If we're being honest, this ruse was quite elaborate and the leaker put effort into fooling everyone. The screenshots aren't easy to find in Red Dead Redemption 2, especially if your desktop isn't a top-of-the-line gaming rig. The right combination of mods and taking advantage of the current demand for the Red Dead Redemption means that anyone brazen enough to come up with this has a quick ticket to the attention of millions of fans from around the globe. Had the leaker put more effort into taking screenshots of more obscure places from Red Dead Redemption 2 and we would've all been singing a different tune.

Rockstar Games made it clear last year that it was all-in on the development of the next Grand Theft Auto game, which it still refuses to call Grand Theft Auto 6, by the way.

While Rockstar and Take-Two could indeed be working on a Red Dead Redemption Remaster - and a Grand Theft Auto 4 remaster if we believe the older rumors - the only way we'll know is if we hear from either company.

Unfortunately, given how secretive both the developers and its parent company are, the only way we'll find out more about what kind of projects they're working on is if they let us in on the secret.

Given how nonchalantly Rockstar confirmed Red Dead Redemption 2 way back then, it wouldn't surprise us if they stealth-dropped Red Dead Redemption Remaster, which, according to other insiders, will happen in November.

Red Dead Redemption's 13th anniversary passed last May, so it's not like there's a significant event happening later this year that's related to Red Dead Redemption.

Thus, the wait continues. Although it's disappointing to know that the most recent leak about the Red Dead Redemption remaster is fake, we can at least take solace in knowing that the community remains very active and alive. Fingers crossed, all of this noise will reach Rockstar and make them consider reviving Red Dead Online.
