After revealing the PSVR 2 earlier this year, Sony hasn't come forward with a release window for the next-gen VR device yet.

But, if you believe the recent claims of an analyst, PlayStation VR 2 could enter production as early as later this year, ahead of an early 2023 launch.

TF International Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, had PlayStation fans buzzing after taking to Twitter to reveal that Sony could start making PSVR2 as early as in a few months. Kuo adds that up to 1.5 million PSVR 2 units could roll off the line later this year and be ready to hit store shelves in the first quarter of 2023.

The early 2023 release window for the PSVR 2 is also in line with what we've heard recently, so it's not necessarily out of the question.

Now, Kuo doesn't have the most stellar record. For example, the analyst once said that the PSVR 2 could come out in April 2022. Also, a few years ago, Kuo "leaked" that Apple and Valve were working on an AR headset. Neither of what Kuo said came true, so try not to get your hopes too high up. At the same time, Kuo's statement does make sense. In particular, the part that the PSVR 2's launch next year all hinges on how well the development of its launch titles goes. It only makes sense for Sony to blitz the VR market with the PSVR 2 with a strong lineup.
