In a surprising development, Insomniac Games, in conjunction with Nixxes, have revealed the system requirements for the much-anticipated PC adaptation of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and, much to everyone's surprise, it's relatively tame.

Pivotal to the game's technical marvel is its support for DirectStorage 1.2, which makes it the first game to support this new feature. This breakthrough API brings GPU decompression capabilities to the table, freeing up CPU resources and enabling high-bandwidth streaming of game assets. It dramatically improves the experience, particularly when rendering high-quality textures and environments with intricate details, ensuring gameplay remains immersive.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a pioneering endeavor in the PC gaming sphere. We've developed adaptive streaming based on live measurement of the available hardware bandwidth. This permits us to modify the texture streaming strategy for the most favorable possible outcome on any configuration," elaborated Alex Bartholomeus, Principal Programmer at Insomniac.
