PlayStation confirms exclusive operator skin for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

The Lockpick Operator Pack is believed to be the final PlayStation-exclusive Call of Duty operator skin as Sony's deal expires.

We'll likely get a better look at the PlayStation-exclusive Operator skin closer to Modern Warfare 3's release.

With the holidays already upon us, it’s time for the marketing train for the next Call of Duty game to go full speed. Just like clockwork, Sony is making sure everyone places their pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 by teasing their next exclusive operator skin.

Sony sent out emails to users encouraging them to pre-order Modern Warfare 3 to get the exclusive “Operator Pack for Modern Warfare 3.”

The email refuses to name the in-game cosmetic but Charlie Intel confirmed that it will be called the Lockpick Operator Pack.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The only way to get the Lockpick Operator Pack is to digitally pre-order Modern Warfare 3 on the PlayStation Store. You will receive the skin for free when it comes out on November 10.

It’s clear from the teaser that the Operator specializes in opening safes and locking picks. Unfortunately, it doesn’t tell a lot outside of the Operator’s gender (she’s female) and color scheme, which shows a black and orange headgear with a standard PlayStation blue color scheme in camo pattern. However, we can assume that the blue combat knife shown in the teaser is part of the bundle as will likely be a Melee Weapon Blueprint, among others.

Previously, PlayStation released the Oni Operator skin exclusively to those who pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 on the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be a joint collaboration between Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward.

The Lockpick Operator Pack is likely the final exclusive skin for PlayStation owners after the existing deal between the long-time partners, PlayStation and Call of Duty expires, which will be replaced by a new deal with Microsoft.

Sadly enough, Xbox players will not get access to the Lockpick Operator Pack. As previously mentioned, this is exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

With the release of Modern Warfare 3 on November 10, Activision Blizzard’s three biggest games on the market will be available to play on Steam. As of the time of writing, Activision Blizzard owns two of the three-worst reviewed games on Steam. Diablo 4’s arrival on October 17 is expected to make it a trio.
