Gran Turismo 7 will not be coming to the PlayStation 5 this 2021.

That was one of the many things that PlayStation CEO, Jim Ryan, discussed in an interview with international men's magazine, GQ.

During the said interview, Ryan mentioned a list of games that are expected to release on time despite the ongoing pandemic. This list of titles includes Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, as well as Horizon Forbidden West. However, notably missing from the names of titles the SIE President rattled off is the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 7.

Why Is The Gran Turismo 7 Delay Serious?

Gran Turismo 7 was first announced during the PlayStation 5 reveal event last year in June 2020.

The game would serve as the first numbered title in the iconic racing video game franchise since Gran Turismo 6 released back in 2013 for the PlayStation 3.

Naturally, gamers were excited for the return of the Real Driving Simulator.

Unfortunately, as it turns out, fans will have to wait a bit longer to get a chance to play Gran Turismo 7 on their PlayStation 5.

According to a statement from a representative during the same GQ interview, Gran Turismo 7 was "impacted by Covid-related production challenges" that forced it to postpone its scheduled release date from 2021 to 2022. However, no further specifics were shared other than the delay, but the interview did contain information promising that more details will be coming soon. Are There Other PlayStation Titles Delayed? Not really. At least, as far as the interview is concerned.
