If Pokemon has the phrase, "Gotta Catch 'Em All", then maybe Palworld's equivalent is, "Sell As Many As Possible."

We know it's bad, but the numbers that Palworld just keeps on posting is good for both its developers, Pocket Pair, and the folks paying for exclusivity, Xbox.

Released in early access, Palworld became available across PC and Xbox Series S/X on January 19 and within just hours of launching, it had already sold over one million units. This remarkable achievement was announced by the developer on social media, along with an image celebrating the occasion, showcasing the game's tamable critters.

At this rate, Xbox might have to give the developers the green light to put Palworld on other platforms to better capitalize on its success.

Palworld's concept, often referred to as "Pokémon with guns," successfully combined the charm of the popular multi-media franchise with the intensity and excitement of a survival game, a combination that has resonated strongly with fans. The early access launch saw the game reach a peak of 200,000 concurrent players on Steam alone, a number that rapidly increased to an estimated 560,000, according to Steam Database. The inclusion of the game in Game Pass has made it difficult to determine the exact number of players, but the initial response indicates a debut comparable to other indie hits like Valheim.
