Nick Fury prepares for “One Last Fight” in official Secret Invasion trailer

Secret Invasion might be the last time Marvel Studios will blow this much on a single TV series as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This would be a perfect opportunity to bring back one of the most popular characters from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

For all intents and purposes, Secret Invasion will premiere on June 21. Now, as if sensing the growing fan unrest, Marvel Studios has dropped an official trailer for the Samuel L. Jackson-led show.

The six-episode series will feature a much older Nick Fury finally returning to Earth from god knows where to help protect it from an incoming Skull invasion. His allies? Everett Ross, Maria Hill, and the same Skrull who’s been playing him this entire time, Talos.

The shape-shifting aliens are deeply seated in powerful government positions, which gives Secret Invasion a different tone. As evidenced by the lack of de-aging technology on Fury in the trailer, you’d think this “one last fight” might be his swan song for the MCU.

In addition to a handful of familiar faces, Olivia Coleman and Emilia Clarke will debut in Secret Invasion as Sonya Falsworth and G’iah, respectively.

While the teaser trailer definitely gives audiences a better look at Secret Invasion, it does an excellent job of keeping the rest of the show a mystery. It’s clear Marvel Studios are feeling the backlash and they’re upping the quality of their shows, as promised.

We’ll find out more on June 21 if Secret Invasion will be a return to form for the Marvel Cinematic Universe or another stop in its ongoing downward spiral.

Secret Invasion is easily the most star-studded TV show Marvel Studios has released.

As for Samuel L. Jackson, he isn’t done with the MCU just yet. Jackson will appear in The Marvels next, which is on track to premiere later this year.
