It doesn't matter if you love him or hate him (or maybe even revere him) but Hideo Kojima has left an indelible mark on the video game industry. The Metal Gear franchise is one of the most influential games of all time. The series set a high bar for stealth and spy games, which only a few have matched let alone surpassed. So, while Kojima's first project after his messy divorce from Konami, Death Stranding, was divisive, fans are still looking forward to seeing what his wildly creative mind can come up next.

Now, it seems that Kojima is gearing up for a proper reveal of his next project sooner than expected.

Kojima recently sent his fans into a frenzy after sending out a tweet suggesting that he had just finished editing the trailer for his new game. Many speculate that Kojima Productions is preparing to showcase the still-untitled game at Gamescom 2022.

Gamescom Opening Night Live will take place on August 23 with Geoff Keighley hosting. It is worth remembering that Kojima was at the Summer Game Fest last year to reveal Death Stranding: Director's Cut. Not to mention, Kojima is working with Xbox for its next title and Microsoft recently confirmed its presence in Cologne, Germany in two weeks.
