The PS5 is one of the best video game consoles on the market. It's so good, in fact, that it's also very rare. Unlike the Xbox Series S/X, which has been steadily available over the past year, the PS5 remains just as elusive as the long-rumored PC port of FromSoftware's Bloodborne.
All jokes aside, the PS5 is already quite a powerful machine and subsequent updates from Sony have only made the PS5 better.
Case in point, the latest firmware update for the PS5 lets it support 1440p.
First things first, Sony is late with its 1440p support for the PS5. Both the Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S have had this feature for far longer. Nevertheless, it's still a big deal. Why? For starters, 1440p monitors are cheaper compared to 4K monitors. It's also easier to get your hands on 1440p displays with high refresh rates and they're more economical.
On top of this, most newer 1440p monitors already support HDMI 2.1.
