After years of whimpering performances at the global box office, the MonsterVerse finally gave Godzilla justice.

The partnership between Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures that started in 2014 has since birthed a cinematic universe filled with monstrous giants such as Godzilla and King Kong. This has also led to a renewed interest in Godzilla among audiences. Currently, multiple MonsterVerse films are in the works, including a Godzilla vs. Kong sequel coming out in 2024. Before then, fans can look forward to a different Godzilla film straight from the film studio that owns Godzilla.

According to Toho, a new Godzilla movie will premiere on November 3, which is the 69th anniversary of the Japanese premiere of the first Godzilla movie. Unfortunately, Toho didn't reveal more info about the untitled Godzilla movie that will be directed by Takashi Yamazaki.

The upcoming live-action Godzilla movie is Toho's first since 2016's Shin Godzilla and isn't part of the MonsterVerse.
