During the premier of the third episode of Night City Wire - the webseries that CD Projekt Red uses to reveal new details and footage from Cyberpunk 2077 - a pair of new trailers was also released, focusing on two different aspects of the game.

Postcards from Night City gives us our best look to date at what average life is like in the metropolis and what this living, breathing setting feels like, while Gangs of Night City is pretty self explanatory.

CDPR has already proved, in past games, that they can masterfully craft virtual worlds that are more than just static backdrops to the adventures of the protagonist. Like the magical fantasy world of The Witcher games, Night City is a vibrant ecosystem of its own filled with people, factions, opportunities and hidden dangers. It isn't just a stage for V to steal the spotlight on, but a fully functional world that has plenty going on even without protagonist input.

We see numerous talkshows, news programs and other forms of entertainment interspersed with in-engine footage from the game showing off the city from the perspective of V who enjoys the sights, the food, the sights and the dangers. Many characters - some we've met before, like Jackie, and some we have never seen or heard before - speak over the footage to give a bit of context.

If you pay attention, you'll even see Johnny Silverhand making a cameo, but that's probably just a virtual "ghost" materialized by V's cyberware.
