Details of NetherRealm Studios' next project are under lock and key. However, a rather cheeky leak straight from one of the studio's producers suggest that NetherRealm is working on a new Mortal Kombat installment.

NetherRealm Studios has worked on more than a dozen Mortal Kombat games at this point. But, you can argue that the series reached its peak in the first few games, with the latest series of reboots beginning with 2011's Mortal Kombat.

After NetherRealm confirmed that it had finished working on Mortal Kombat 11 last year, NetherRealm Studios producer Jonathan Anderson posted an image on Twitter that hid a particularly interesting detail.

The since-deleted post shows promotional materials and concept art from NetherRealm's previous projects, but if you look closely at the upper right part, you can see a partially obscured piece of art that warns not to "share any part of this video" and that "fans eagerly scrape the internet for any trace". Meanwhile, there are a handful of files on the desktop, including "MK12_Mast..." and "Reptile" that feel too on the nose for something that isn't intentional.
