Get ready for more epic adventures in the vibrant world of Arcane! After the resounding success of its debut season, the fans have eagerly awaited news of Arcane Season 2, and the wait is finally over. The popular animated television series, inspired by the League of Legends video game, has announced its release date, nearly two years after the first season’s captivating premiere.
When Arcane burst onto the scene in 2021, it garnered widespread critical acclaim, with some reviewers hailing it as one of the greatest video game adaptations to date. Netflix wasted no time in renewing the series for a second season, owing to its impressive performance and enthusiastic fan reception. Despite numerous inquiries from fans, details about the upcoming season were scarce.
Now, two years after the first season’s debut, Netflix has unveiled the highly anticipated release date for Arcane Season 2 – November 2024. This announcement not only puts an end to the suspense but also aligns with a leak from September that hinted at a Q4 2024 arrival.

Netflix revealed the release date for Arcane Season 2 on Thursday during its ongoing Geeked Week event. A 15-second clip offered a sneak peek into the upcoming season, featuring Jinx crossing a bridge with her familiar rocket launcher from the end of season one.
True to Jinx’s style, she appears ready for trouble, with a red hue enveloping the scene and artillery trailing each one of her steps.
The excitement among fans over the official release date for Arcane Season 2 is beyond words. Netflix shared the short clip on its X page, and fans flooded the comments with their enthusiasm. While most were thrilled about the release date, some couldn’t hide their disappointment that it’s still quite a way off.
Considering the three-year gap between the first and second seasons upon release, it’s understandable to empathize with the eager fans. However, the immersive visuals of Arcane require time for development. The first season took the animation studio, Fortiche, six years to craft. The fact that the second season was accomplished in half that time speaks volumes about the studio’s commitment.
Despite this, Arcane Season 2 could have potentially arrived earlier. Earlier this year, Nicolo Laurent, Riot Games CEO, shared that they might have begun production on the second season much earlier had they anticipated such an overwhelming response.
He explained, “Honestly, we didn’t know if season one was gonna be a success. If I had known, we could have started season two way earlier. But we didn’t know, so we kind of waited a bit. Now we’re paying the price. So, it’s unfortunately not going to be this year.”
With knowledge of the reception, fans hope the creators won’t repeat the same delay for a potential third season.
The Emmy Award-winning show is based on Riot Games’ League of Legends and is set in the title’s fictional utopian city of Piltover. It focuses on two sisters, Violet Vi and Powder/Jinx, both of whom grew up in the slums of Zaun. Following their father’s death and the destruction of their home, the sisters find themselves on opposing sides of a conflict over arcane technologies, which leaves them completely changed and on divergent paths.
Netflix has yet to provide additional information about the upcoming season beyond its release date, but details have emerged as the release date approaches. Meanwhile, Arcane Season One is available for streaming on Netflix.
