Yesterday, a League of Legends fan account revealed that Arcane's second season is slated for a Q4 2024 release. Based on the information on the page, Tencent, the Chinese company that owns Riot Games, revealed the date during its recent Video V Vision Conference in China.
The account wrote, "It has been revealed at the 2024 Tencent Video V Vision Conference that ARCANE Season 2 will premiere in Q4 (Winter) 2024."
If this is true, Arcane Season 2 will arrive on Netflix anywhere from October to December - next year.
If we were to make a call, we would say that the series will arrive in late October because of two reasons: the first season premiered on Netflix on November 6, 2021 and the game that inspired the project, League of Legends, was originally released in late October 2009 with its 15th anniversary coming up around the same period.

Over the years, Netflix has shown it has a knack for adapting video games to animated TV shows from DOTA: Dragon's Blood and The Dragon Prince to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Castlevania.
Arcane is another of Netflix's successful adaptations. When the series arrived on the platform in 2021, it was well-received by critics and had a 100% Rotten Tomatoes critics' approval rating. It went on to win several awards, including a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Animated Program. Some critics even go as far as to call it one of the best video game adaptations ever.
Based on the Riot Games title League of Legends, Arcane was also very popular with audiences and topped the most viewed charts in many countries. Within one week of its release, the series became Netflix's highest-rated show at the time.
Following Arcane's highly successful debut, Netflix renewed it for a second season. Since then, we've heard little to nothing about its progress or lack of, until now. Nevertheless, anticipation has remained high and fans often take to social media to ask for updates.
If the reported date is correct, then Arcane Season 2 would have spent three years in development. We can't say we are surprised, though. The show's first season features some pretty impressive visuals that required a ton of creativity and time to get right. In fact, the first season required a six-year development period.
Given the studio does not want to compromise on quality, we certainly understand the three-year production period for the second season. We are even impressed that Fortiche managed to slash its development period into two so the project will arrive sooner.
Despite this, we don't really expect fans to understand. Arcane is a great show and it generated anticipation that hasn't died in the interim. If there will be a third season of the series, we certainly hope Fortiche can further reduce the development period. That way, fans won't wait forever to experience a show they well and truly love.
At the moment, neither Netflix nor Riot Games has provided a release date information on the series. If this changes, we will bring it to your notice.
