We've got some good news and some bad news for fans of Netflix's Stranger Things. First up, the show is coming back for a fifth season. The bad news is that it's also going to be the last one. Also, after waiting for over two years for Netflix to drop the fourth season of the popular sci-fi horror drama series, the streaming platform confirmed when the rest of the Stranger Things cast will be back for season 4.

Showrunners, brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, announced the future of Stranger Things on Twitter earlier today as the duo confirmed that Netflix had renewed the show for a fifth season. Also, the Duffer brothers finally gave Stranger Things season 4 a proper release date following a release window reveal last year. Much like several other Netflix shows that had to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, Netflix split Stranger Things' fourth season into two parts. Volume 1 will premiere on May 27 while Volume 2 will launch on July 1.

While it is unfortunate to see Stranger Things coming to an end, the two did tease that spin-offs could be on the docket. Specifically, their letter reads, "there are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes."
