With a legacy as entrenched in pop culture as the steel-clad enforcer of justice himself, RoboCop: Rogue City finds itself being potentially met with both excitement and skepticism, raising the bar for what fans can expect from the video game adaptation of one of media's most iconic figures.
Unfortunately, the deafaning silence surrounding the game gives way to discussions about whether or not the RoboCop game will be released in September, as per earlier announcements.
Based on Nacon's latest financial report, fans should expect an announcement of a delay soon.
If you head on over to page/slide 80 of the said report, you'll find Nacon's list of upcoming games for the current fiscal year, which has RoboCop: Rogue City penciled in for a November 9 release.
It's unclear why this unconfirmed delay is happening, but it's possible that it could be related to Starfield. It's common for video game developers to duck and avoid big-time releases when possible. Larian Studios did this with Baldur's Gate 3 and it certainly has paid of well for them. The early PC release gave Baldur's Gate 3 a chance to hog the spotlight all to itself while drumming up unbelievable amounts of hype for the upcoming PlayStation 5 launch. However, not every title has spent three years in Early Access alone, so Nacon might not feel as confident to release RoboCop: Rogue City.
