Marvel Studios just can't stop expanding on the MCU. The popular comic book arm of Disney continues to bring more comic book characters to life. Case in point, Marvel Studios just began production on an untitled project set in space.

As spotted by Comicbook.com, the recent Production Weekly issue includes details of a new outer world project by Marvel Studios, Untitled Marvel Space Project, adding that it is currently in development. Interestingly, the project only lists Marvel Studios President, Kevin Fiege, as the only producer working on the project. This would suggest that Marvel wants to keep this a secret for the foreseeable future.

Initially, Marvel Studios appeared hesitant to invest in galactic adventures for its cinematic universe. However, following the success of James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014, whose threequel is the only upcoming MCU film that Disney did not delay, Marvel Studios has started to open up more.

Although Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be more of a multiversal venture than outer space, the film after it, Thor: Love and Thunder, which is doing reshoots right now, should see the MCU go into the stars and beyond once again. Other upcoming films like The Marvels and I Am Groot are also expected to help flesh out the rest of the MCU.
