Activision Blizzard recently hosted a global event to reveal Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. As the event took place, the official X (Twitter) announced that Zombies will be making a comeback in the upcoming title.
Fans have been asking for the popular Zombies mode to return to the first-person shooter franchise, especially after the last entry, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, didn't feature the Zombies mode which disappointed a lot of longtime players.
According to the announcement, Modern Warfare 3 will boast the "largest Call of Duty Zombies map ever." The Zombies mode will be an open-world survival PVE experience that pits players against hordes of undead. Gamers can team up with others to fight off Zombies and other threats.
The upcoming Zombies mode will not be returning to the old round-based gameplay and instead by featuring an extraction shooter-style experience similar to Warzone's DMZ. What this means is that players will drop into a Warzone map, complete mission objectives, gather loot, and exfil out of the arena.
Players will be dropping into the map in squads of six operators, not the usual four from Warzone. There will be up to a maximum of 24 players during each round. These teams can assimilate to work on objectives together.
