In the past few years, the gaming industry has witnessed an interesting dance between console manufacturers and gaming publishers. The rhythm is set by exclusive partnerships, sudden announcements, and unexpected multi-platform titles. One such announcement that recently took the stage is the multi-platform release of Metaphor: ReFantazio, a new fantasy RPG developed by Atlus' Studio Zero, on the Xbox and the PC.

Originally revealed during the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase, Metaphor: ReFantazio was initially only confirmed for Xbox and PC. However, a subsequent and promptly deleted Tweet from Sega Korea unveiled that the game would be making its way to the PlayStation and Steam.

This statement was later confirmed by the official South Korean branch of ATLUS, thus reinforcing the game's multi-platform release policy.

, formerly known as Project Re: Fantasy, has been in development for six years. The game is a massive departure from the Persona series, one of Atlus' most successful franchises, and aims to mark a return to the roots of the Japanese games industry, where fantasy role-playing games were born.
