Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated video games of the year. However, many fans have feared its release date would be pushed back given the lack of updates on the title since Sony unveiled its trailer at that year's PlayStation Showcase. Last year, the developer reassured fans that the title was still on track with an update from one of the game's voice actors saying the same thing but these didn't seem to do much for public trust.

However, there is an update that will put the minds of fans at ease. On Sunday, an eagle-eyed Reddit user spotted a trailer for the highly anticipated title on Australia's ESPN2 live channel. The Reddit user, Clarkey7163, also recorded an HD version of the commercial, which they then uploaded to Streamable for interested fans to view. If nothing else, the advert indicates that Sony is confident that the title is ready for release and, as a result, has launched its marketing efforts on it.

The advert was in the form of a fake news broadcast that showed Peter Parker and Miles Morales apprehending some criminals in New York City. After successfully disarming the criminals, the pair of Spideys leave them strung up in webs for the cops to find and arrest. What's more? The ESPN2 advert used a mixture of live-action and CGI footage to bring the game to life and whet fans' appetite.
