Marvel's Blade may be an Xbox exclusive after all

A part of the gaming community hoped that Disney would negotiate for Blade to be available on the PlayStation. However, a recent statement by Disney regarding the exclusivity of Bethesda's Indiana Jones suggests that the company is comfortable with making titles available only on a single platform.

Disney's Sean Shoptaw said that the company feels that the exclusivity made financial and strategic sense. Disney also recently said that the exclusivity of Blade will be up to Bethesda to decide. The IP holder playing into both console manufacturers' exclusivity plans is certainly a twisty situation.

Having the Xbox logo prominently displayed in the trailer gives off the Starfield exclusivity vibe. Bethesda prominently marketed the Xbox and PC exclusivity of the title prior to its release. Arkane may also be taking such an approach with Blade given how much excitement the game has generated.

Aside from the platform, Arkane hasn't revealed much about Marvel's Blade. The trailer reveals that the game is now in development at the studio but not much else. The title is also missing a release date, suggesting that it may be really early in development at this point. Perhaps Arkane is holding out on announcing a platform as the game may not even come to current generation consoles.

We have so many questions about Marvel's Blade right now. Unfortunately, we may not be getting anything out of Microsoft or Arkane anytime soon. We do hope that the studio answers some of our burning questions in a future event similar to last year's Xbox Showcase. Right now, we are just excited to know that Marvel's Blade is in development.
