Things haven't been going well over at Marvel Studios. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania recently had a poor showing at the box office and failed to meet the expectations of fans and critics. Now, adding to Marvel's struggles, is the departure of a longtime executive from the studio.

Victoria Alonso joined Marvel in 2006 and served as the producer for the first Iron Man movie. Before her exit, Alonso had become the President of Physical, Post Production, VFX, and Animation, at Marvel.

The reason for the executive's departure remains unclear, but she left Marvel last Friday, sources reveal. It's speculated that Alonso's resignation has something to do with Marvel's issues with post-production and visual effects.

Alonso joined Marvel well before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was even a thing. During her seventeen-year stint, she was part of growing the studio into the highest-grossing franchise in film history.
