Marvel Studios' Blade delayed by WGA Strike

Blade appears to be the only Marvel project confirmed to have been negatively impacted by the strike. Others like The Marvels, Captain America: New World Order, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and Daredevil: Born Again, are all currently in post-production or filming stages.

Thunderbolts, which is set to premiere after Captain America: New World Order, might be delayed by an extended strike, especially since it's set to begin production after Blade.

It's ironic that a film about a unique vampire that can't seem to die by the usual means always seems to find itself dead in the water at every corner.

Bassim Tariq, the film's original director,

left the project

due to scheduling issues. This paved the way for Lovecraft Country's Yann Demarge, to

come on board and take his place

. In addition to this, Watchmen's Stacy Amma Osei-Kuffour and The Witcher's Beau DeMayo had written the script before Pizzolatto came in to do some final polishing.

It's commendable seeing Marvel make sure that it has a high-quality script first before moving forward. It's a testament to the importance of Blade to the MCU as well as the message that the WGA is trying to send with its strike. The union wants to highlight the importance of writers and their work in the filmmaking process. Marvel's decision to postpone production shows its commitment to the quality of the MCU and the members of the WGA.

As fans wait for the return of the vampire hunter, they have no choice but to exercise patience. The film's journey has been nothing short of a rollercoaster of events, but Marvel's unwavering resolve is a good sign.
