The March 7 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update Finally Fixes Best Live-Action Spider-Man Suit

Talk about attention to detail, Tobey Maguire's suit in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is looking worse for the wear, as it should.

With the release of the March 7 update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Insomniac is treating players to a host of new features and tweaks, including a New Game+ mode and several brand new suits.

Among these updates, one particular adjustment has captured the attention of fans: the refinement of the Sam Raimi suit, famously worn by the one and only Tobey Maguire in the early 2000s Spider-Man trilogy. This suit, which appeared in the 2021 film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, also belongs to the man that many are describing as the best live-action Spider-Man. Period.

Insomniac Games’ latest update fixes the suit’s color palette, making adjustments to the overly saturated shades of red and blue to more closely match the faded, washed look in the movies. This change helps highlight the suit’s distinctive silver webbing, making it a more faithful recreation of the iconic costume.

Spider-Man: No Way Home did an excellent job setting up Tobey Maguire's Peter Parker as the most mature, wisest, and quite possibly, the most powerful, of the bunch.

The community’s response to this update has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans across various platforms praising Insomniac for the attention to detail and commitment to authenticity.

Insomniac’s addition of the Sam Raimi suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was welcomed by fans and why wouldn’t it be? It’s one of the best live-action Spider-Man suits.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 continues to thrive as a fan-favorite, building on the success of its predecessors. Its ability to blend engaging storylines with immersive gameplay, much like the Batman: Arkham series, has cemented its place in the hearts of Spider-Man and video game enthusiasts alike. It’s set to get at least three post-launch DLCs, including one that will center around Tombstone and Beetle.

As for Tobey Maguire, the best Spider-Man in the eyes of adoring fans, it’s unclear when we’ll see him suit up again. After leading the trio of Spider-Man, it’s presumed Tobey is putting his Spider-Man costume back into the proverbial closet. But Raimi has left the door open for a reunion that would see him and Maguire work together again on a fourth film after directing 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Of course with Deadpool and Wolverine blowing the doors to the multiverse wide open, there’s a chance that Kevin Feige and Sony will shake hands to bring the best Spider-Man back into the big screen, possibly as one of the core members of a multiversal group of superheroes fighting against the MCU’s next big baddie.
