he anticipation among fans for the introduction of the X-Men into the MCU is palpable, to the extent that some claim to have discovered subtle references to the mutant superhero team within Loki Season 2. But, as it turns out, they were just imagining things. The show's director has taken a moment to address the rampant theories circulating on social media.
Many fans thought that the doors to the TVA's temporal loom resembled Cerebro, a machine that telepaths like Professor X and Jean Grey use to locate fellow mutants. The doors of the temporal loom have a similar X pattern meeting at the center and a circular centerpiece which does look a bit like the doors to Cerebro. Fans thought that this was an easter egg for the X-Men, who have yet to be added to the MCU.
However, Loki's production designer and director of Episode 3 Kasra Farahani recently debunked the popular easter egg theory making rounds on social media. In an interview with Comicbook.com, the director quickly ended the speculation about the X-Men.
"No, I don't even know the doors people are talking about, honestly," Farahani said. "It's not. We were looking at a lot of subterranean missile bunkers, missile silos from the Cold War era. There's some insanely, heavy fortified doors in those bunkers and that's where that's coming from."
