Logan Paul is still part of the WWE.
After confirming that his contract with the world’s foremost wrestling promotion was expiring after WrestleMania 39, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that he believes that the elder Paul has signed a new WWE contract.
The Ultimate Influencer had one of the best rookie years ever in the WWE. After making his debut against Rey and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 38, Paul was part of some of last year’s most memorable matches, starting with The Miz at SummerSlam and Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel. The latter match kept him out of action due to injuries for several months before he successfully made his return at this year’s Royal Rumble.
From then on, Paul was on a one-way track to feud against Seth Rollins after teasing a WrestleMania 39 match against John Cena.
While Paul would end up losing to Rollins on his 28th birthday at WrestleMania 39, Paul has delivered on expectations time and time again. Thus, it’s a no-brainer that the WWE didn’t take too long to resign him, especially after the recent merger.
It’s unclear what the WWE is planning for Paul for his sophomore season. The Maverick will likely never sign to wrestle full-time due to his several commitments outside of the ring. This forces the WWE to use him in a limited capacity. But, after a feud with the Mysterios, The Miz, Reigns, and Rollins, you can’t help but wonder who’s next? Reigns is expected to be out of the WWE for a while and Backlash is up next.
With King and Queen of the Ring, Money in the Bank, and SummerSlam, among several others, all coming up, the WWE has the tall task of topping last year’s storylines for Paul.
The good news is that Paul is a natural athlete with mic skills that even veterans would envy. So, it wouldn’t matter as much who the WWE put up against him and what the results are – it’s likely going to go viral.
