LEGO 2K Drive will let you build your own custom brick racer in May

According to the official reveal, LEGO 2K Drive is an open-world racing game with elements borrowed from kart racers featuring an "off-the-wall experience" and "unique power-up abilities."

It appears that LEGO 2K Drive will take place in the fictional, Brickalandia, with several themed regions for players to explore and collectibles to uncover. In addition to this, LEGO 2k Drive will have mini-games to keep faces occupied outside of races.

But, while LEGO 2K Drive will let players customize their cars to their heart's desire, it has several vehicles from known lines like Lego's City, Creator, and Speed Champions, including the McLaren Solus GT and McLaren F1 LM.

Finally, LEGO 2K Drive will have both single-player and multiplayer gameplay with both co-op and competitive modes in it as well. As if that wasn't enough, Visual Concepts is making 90s kids everywhere jump in joy as LEGO 2K Drive will have two-player split-screen and six-player online player.

As the "first release in a multi-title partnership" between 2K and the Lego Group, LEGO 2K Drive will set the tone for future LEGO titles. Who knows? It might end up realizing the potential of the mildly popular Lego Racers games from the late 90s and early 2000s.

Excited racers won't have to wait for too long to find out more about LEGO 2K Drive. The upcoming brick-filled open-world racer is coming on both current and last-gen consoles on May 19.
