Marvel's Spider-Man 2, the much-awaited sequel from Insomniac Games, is once again, poised to set a high bar not only with engaging gameplay but also in addressing the need for accessibility and player-centric choices in the gaming world. As the excitement builds to unparalleled levels in anticipation of the title's release, fans are naturally wondering how well it will perform.
Unfortunately, in their excitement, gamers were quick to pounce on a leak perpetrated by a once-reliable leaker that's pseudo-retired already.
Apparently, The Snitch, claimed that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will have two graphics modes: Fidelity and Performance. For those striving for a visually immersive experience, Fidelity Mode offers gameplay at 30 frames per second at 4K. This is supposedly further enriched with ray tracing and added visual effects. Meanwhile, the Performance Mode emphasizes gameplay fluidity, featuring gameplay at 60 FPS, and an upscaled 4K resolution, albeit without all the embellishments of ray tracing and other effects. Notably, this decision of forgoing the usual 1080p in Performance Mode will set Marvel's Spider-Man 2 apart from many titles, for better or for worse.
