The last time that Nintendo fans got a chance to play as Kirby was in 2018 for the Nintendo Switch in Kirby: Star Allies. The platforming title went on to become the highest-selling entry in the series since 1992, which sets a high bar for its successor. But, judging from the latest trailer we got for Kirby and the Forgotten Land, it appears that Kirby's next outing might be able to match Star Allies' numbers if not outdo it.
Nintendo just confirmed that the next Kirby game is going to be released on March 25. In addition to this, Nintendo also shared a trailer showcasing more of Kirby's abilities in Kirby and the Forgotten Land as well as some co-op gameplay.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land was leaked just hours before its official announcement at the Nintendo Direct last September 2021. The surprise title is a more traditional platforming game with a big twist. Unlike previous outings, Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a full 3D game where players can thoroughly explore a fully detailed city. Because of this massive change, fans are already comparing Kirby and the Forgotten Land to Mario Odyssey, which is one of the best games available on the Switch.
