Karl Urban will star as a Wolverine variant in Deadpool 3

Apart from them, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Garner, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen are actors we've also heard will feature in the film. At this point, we almost can't tell which casting is true and which is imagined.

At the moment, we know next to nothing about Deadpool 3's plot. Since the titular character will work with Wolverine, we think it is obvious they will team up to overcome a common goal. Given the Time Variance Authority agent Mobius M. Mobius will also reportedly feature in the film, we suspect it will also incorporate time travel in some way.

Ryan Reynolds will once again star as the titular character, also known as Merc with a Mouth, and Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine. Deadpool 3 will also see Leslie Uggams, Brianna Hildenbrand, Karan Soni, and many more reprising their roles from earlier films.

Shawn Levy, director of The Adam Project and The Night at the Museum franchise, is helming the project based on the screenplay he himself wrote along with Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Zeb Wells, and Paul Wernick. He recently spoke about the dynamics between Wolverine and Deadpool.

Deadpool 3 is slated for release next May. Filming began on the project earlier this year. Unfortunately, the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes threw a wrench in Marvel's best laid plans and resulted in the suspension of production on the film. Because of this, there is a high possibility that the film's current release date is pushed back.

Whether or not Urban will feature in Deadpool 3 remains to be seen. One thing we do know for sure is he'll reprise his role as Billy Butcher in The Boys Season 4. There is currently no confirmed release date for that show but we expect it to arrive later this year.

Deadpool 3 will arrive in theaters on May 3, 2024.
