Amazon has cast The Walking Dead and Supernatural actor, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, for the upcoming season of the popular Amazon Prime Video series, The Boys, which just began filming.
Morgan will join The Boys as a recurring guest. However, his role remains unknown for the moment. He is the third newcomer on the show after Valorie Curry and Susan Heyward, who will play the super-abled characters, Firecracker and Super Sage, respectively.
The third season of the satirical superhero TV show ended on a cliff-hanger as Ryan, Homelander's son with Butcher's late wife, Becca, chose to side with his tyrannical dad over Butcher. This gave off the impression that Ryan could end up on the wrong and dark path. But, with Morgan joining The Boys, fans are curious to see if he'll have a huge part to play in the next season. If nothing else, viewers can expect nothing short of an excellent performance from the seasoned actor.
Morgan has previously worked with Eric Kripke on Supernatural. He is now the third actor from Supernatural to appear on the show after Jim Beaver in Season 1 and Jensen Ackles in Season 3. Kripke has been trying to get Morgan on the show since 2020 after the season 1 finale aired. He was originally billed to appear in Season 3. However, it proved impossible due to Morgan's schedule. Fortunately, he has found a way to make things work.
