The DC Extended Universe has officially concluded with the release of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and its off kilter end credits scene. Now that DC Studios can focus its full attention on the new DC Universe, James Gunn gives promising updates about its first projects; mainly the hotly anticipated Superman: Legacy.
The DC Studios co-CEO recently took to the social media platform Threads to share with fans the newest developments for upcoming DCU projects. In one of the threads, a fan asked Gunn about a production update for Superman: Legacy which he will be directing.
Gunn revealed that pre-production is going well and shared that most of the work is underway. "It's going swimmingly," Gunn wrote. "Sets being built, costumes being finished, actors studying roles, prosthetics and VFX models being made, flights booked. Here we go."
Superman: Legacy already has its main cast in David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. DC Studios also recently signed Nicholas Hoult to the project as Lex Luthor. Gunn also shared that casting for the movie is almost done with more than 90% of the actors already "locked in."
