James Gunn has advice for fans who want to avoid The Suicide Squad spoilers

Of course, no one is expecting The Suicide Squad to break anything outside of pandemic box office records, nor should James Gunn create an entire campaign out of warning fans about The Suicide Squad spoilers.

Still, the director was very clear about cautioning fans regarding what they read or watch online in the next couple of weeks.

Gunn is clearly aware of how the internet just can't help but take the fun out of things. If you're the sort to feel deflated about having a film spoiled for you, then the warning is for you.

If you're worried that trailers will spoil The Suicide Squad for you, Gunn stated in one of his replies on Twitter that he "tried to reveal only what was necessary," and that fans shouldn't expect more The Suicide Squad trailers to drop before it premieres.

Gunn also talked about other things in the Twitter thread linked above, which effectively served as an impromptu Q&A session between The Suicide Squad director and his fans. In it, he clarified that The Suicide Squad will have a post-credits scene, a soundtrack, and that "there is one shot in some trailers not in the film.

Speaking of the post-credits scene, Gunn encourages fans to stick around and see the names of all the crew members shown in the credits roll.

For his last reply, Gunn hyped up HBO's Peacemaker TV series with John Cena. He teased just how much more over-the-top Peacemaker is going to be compared to The Suicide Squad, which echoes John Cena's earlier statements.

With that said, Gunn seems to trust the film's fans to be both sensible and to be themselves.

Being careful and staying off the internet is the best way to avoid getting The Suicide Squad spoiled for you. Either that, or you'll have to skip and scroll through a lot of content until you get a chance to see The Suicide Squad when it premieres in theaters and on HBO Max this August 6.
