Is Assassin's Creed Mirage going to be delayed to November?

Basically, xj0nathan reinforced the earlier leaks about how Assassin's Creed Mirage will bring the series back to its roots and be a more focused single-player experience, similar to the first Assasins Creed game albeit with modern changes such as a smaller skill tree, unlockable weapons, and minimal cut scenes set in the present timeline.

While most of what xj0nathan had mentioned is good news, there are two things that might disappoint fans.

For starters, the parkour in Assassin's Creed Mirage will reportedly not be as good as that in Asasssin's Creed Unity. While more infamous than beloved, mostly due to the launch issues it faced as the game introduced many features for the first in the series, Unity had a couple of good things going for it. Mainly, Unity had arguably the most fluid movement mechanics in any Assassin's Creed game before and since.

Ubisoft has since scaled back on the parkour movement of Assassin's Creed games after the mixed reviews of Unity and most hoped that Mirage would see Ubisoft bravely try to go back to what the controversial installment tried to do.

Unfortunately, this isn't the case, but we're hoping that Ubisoft is at least making the parkour better compared to the last three Assassin's Creed entries.

Moving on, xj0nathan claims that the internal release date for Assassin's Creed Mirage is on October 12. But, he adds that it could be delayed to November.

A month-long delay isn't the worst idea especially if Ubisoft feels like the game needs additional polishing. Besides, as the gaming industry has taught us in recent years, you can't delay a game that technically doesn't have a release date yet.

The first few Assassin's Creed games hold a special place in the heart of franchise fans. Commercially, they did very well too. Assassin's Creed 2 remains the best-selling game in the franchise by a significant margin. Although the most recent open-world Assassin's Creed games, namely Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, all sold relatively well, fan interest in the game decreased as time passed.

By bringing back the tried-and-tested Assassin's Creed formula while also mixing in a couple of new things, Ubisoft hopes to steer the franchise back on the right track.

Everything xj0nathan just said in their latest video suggests that Ubisoft is, at the very least, not far off.

Only time will tell if Assassin's Creed Mirage will bring a resurgence in the popularity of the series. But, with Ubisoft holding a showcase on June 12, we can look forward to hearing more about what it's planning going forward.
