Toys for Bob's Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time wasn't as big of a hit as expected.
In terms of numbers, the game reportedly sold fewer copies than the remasters, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. However, it was a critical success, pulling in four awards from various bodies that same year before it was ported over to the PC a year later. Now, it appears that a sequel is in the works.
This isn't the first time that we've heard of a potential sequel to Crash 4. Last year, fans saw that Toys for Bob had been hiring for a new project that isn't Call of Duty.
While on the Windows Central Xbox Chaturdays podcast, Windows Central journalist, Jez Corden, implied that he knew about Toys for Bob's next Crash game. Specifically, he joked that he "wasn't supposed to leak" info about Toys for Bob's new Crash title.
Crash Bandicoot was previously PlayStation's mascot but the IP has changed hands over the years. Activision Blizzard now has full ownership over the character and Toys for Bob has worked on the most recent set of Crash Bandicoot games. However, the controversial publisher's "all-in" approach to Call of Duty forced Toys for Bob to become a support studio for Call of Duty. As per the latest info, Toys for Bob is one of nearly a dozen studios working on Call of Duty.
