Do you know how long it has been since Harrison Ford wore his fedora and went treasure hunting on the big screen? Roughly 14 years, and during that time, Ford has reprised his role as Han Solo in the Star Wars sequel trilogy while also starring in a handful of different movies. Although the plan was always to make a fifth Indiana Jones film following 2008's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, several issues got in the way until Lucasfilm, fresh off the Disney acquisition, officially announced in 2016 that Indiana Jones 5 was finally going to happen.
More than half a decade later, Indiana Jones fans will be glad to know that the fifth movie has just wrapped up filming.
The film's producer, Frank Marshall, went on Twitter to celebrate the momentous occasion. Marshall didn't need to write a longer message outside of saying "That's a wrap!!!", signifying that Indiana Jones 5 is over at least one significant hurdle. Now comes the guessing game, in particular, what the actual title of Indiana Jones 5 is going to be as well who's going to be playing who and what the story is going to be about.
After promising a 2019 release date, Lucasfilm has finally made Indiana Jones 5 happen with Ford back as the leading man with a swath of newcomers such as Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Antonio Banderas, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, as well as Shaunette Renée Wilson.
